About FreshSenseHub
FreshSenseHub gives Americans definitive, fun-to-read shelf-life answers faster than scattered Reddit threads or sterile USDA tables. Every article walks one food through its lifecycle stages — what to look for, what to do, when to toss.
Where our durations come from
The shelf-life numbers we cite are anchored to USDA FoodKeeper and FDA storage charts. When a food appears in multiple sources with different ranges, we pick the more conservative bound and cite the data source on each article.
Editorial principles
- When in doubt, throw it out. Saving a few dollars isn't worth a foodborne illness.
- No hedging. We avoid "probably fine," "if it smells okay," and similar non-answers.
- Stage-accurate visuals. The image you see matches the stage you're reading about — never a fresh photo paired with a "toss it" verdict.
- One mascot, three slots. Sage shows up at the verdict, the final word, and the per-stage callout — and nowhere else.
